Sesame Street Episode 5001 Big Bird Across America

Big Bird Across America

Big Bird video chats with his cousin Little Bird, who invites him to come for a visit in California. Big Bird thinks he can walk there by lunchtime, but Nina explains that California is much further away than he imagines and takes him aside to clarify. Nina shows Big Bird, Elmo, Abby, and Chris a map of the United States of America, highlighting the distance between them and Little Bird. Abby attempts to magically transport Big Bird to California but accidentally sends Chris to a snowy wilderness instead. After bringing Chris back, Big Bird and Nina agree to embark on a road trip together, visiting landmarks and making new friends along the way.

Elmo stops by to help Big Bird pack for the trip. Elmo typically brings his toothbrush, comb, and pajamas, but Big Bird doesn't need the first two items. The two friends sing a song about the things Big Bird will take with him, including his own set of pajamas. Alan, Chris, Abby, Snuffy, Cookie Monster, and Granny Bird gather to bid Big Bird farewell. Chris and Alan gift him with some birdseed cookies, while Cookie Monster's mom prepares a bag of cookies for Nina. Elmo presents Big Bird with a drawing, and Big Bird promises to video chat every day to share his adventures. Nina and Big Bird hop into her Bike Shop van and sing "Here We Go" before setting off on their journey. Elmo and Abby examine Big Bird's travel route and sign off.

Elmo and friends sing and clap as they discover the letter of the day - F.

Celebrity: Dave Grohl joins Big Bird and Elmo to sing "Here We Go."

Cookie Monster's Foodie Truck: On a sweltering day, a boy wants to treat his friends to something refreshing and orders fruit smoothies. Cookie Monster and Gonger have everything they need, except for milk, so they drive to a farm and factory to learn how milk is made.

Elmo and Abby dress up as astronauts and sing about finding the number of the day by counting Martians. Today, there are 7.
