As Julia and the kids set off to play, Elmo decides to finish his artwork, a beautiful drawing adorned with his name. But, to Elmo's surprise, the letter M in his name suddenly disappears. Alarmed, they step outside, only to witness the same phenomenon on the street and Laundromat signs. Just as panic begins to set in, Super Grover swoops in to save the day. He embarks on a quest to find the missing Ms, while a farmer arrives, lamenting about his cows that now "oo" instead of "moo."
Super Grover returns, albeit with the letter B. He proposes replacing all Ms with Bs, but Nina quickly demonstrates the resulting chaos, much to the cows' displeasure who start "booing" the farmer. In Hooper's Store, they encounter another word mishap, as Alan's milk for Telly's lunch has turned into "ilk." Despite his well-intentioned efforts, Super Grover comes back with the letter N, causing more confusion and a mess in the store, courtesy of the "noo-ing" cows.
Guided by Nina's explanation of the M's shape, Super Grover believes he's found the missing letter, but the group corrects him - it's a W, not an M. Elmo, however, observes that the W's face is upside down. Once they flip it right side up, the letter M is revealed. M confesses his desire to be different, feeling underappreciated as he didn't start many exciting words. After a pep talk highlighting the importance of the letter M, he regains his confidence, and all the missing Ms return to their rightful places.
