Peter and the Wolf
Elmo's Musical Adventure: Peter and the Wolf was released in 2001.It is one of Sesame Street special videos. As we see the tittle of the video, Elmo's Musical Adventure is about a musical adventure. It is Sesame Street adaptation of the musical story "Peter and the Wolf" by Sergei Prokofiev.
We see Elmo, Big Bird, Telly and Zoe. They have started their own band. In the band Elmo plays violin, Big Bird plays drums, Telly plays tuba and Zoe plays piano. Baby Bear listens their music. We also see Papa Bear, he says that he's taking his son to see the Boston Pops Orchestra, who will be playing Prokofiev's ballet, Peter and the Wolf.
They go to Symphony Hall and they see an old friend of Papa Bear's: the Boston Pops conductor, Keith Lockhart. The solo instruments are introduced to Baby Bear. Baby Bear wonders how music can tell a story without any words.
When the music begins, Baby Bear imagines. Peter, Elmo, Zoe, Telly Oscar are in this dream.After his dream, Baby Bear can understand how music can tell a story.
When they return, Baby Bearsays that, the band need a conductor in order to provide a good music. Baby Bear wants to be the conductor. Thanks to him, they can play music very well together.
