Sesame Street Episode 4208
The Counting Booth
Season 40 (2009-2010)

The Count is running his counting booth when he receives an urgent call requesting him to do an emergency re-count in Minneapolis. He needs someone to watch his booth while he's away. Maria is too busy making a scrapbook for Gabi, so Elmo and Abby, who are playing nearby, are asked to watch the booth. The Count explains that when people need things counted, they count them. He gives Elmo and Abby their capes and leaves.

The Three Little Pigs arrive for their daily counting to make sure they're still three. They are shocked to find The Count is gone but give Elmo and Abby a chance to count them. The duo counts the pigs and confirms that there are still three of them.

Old MacDonald arrives with a group of chickens he needs counting. Elmo and Abby start counting them, but MacDonald stops them, as The Count always counts his chickens in pairs. Elmo and Abby don't know how to count like that, so they call Maria for help. Maria shows them how to count by 2s, and they count the chickens.

Baby Bear visits the counting booth with some boxes of crayons and needs to count how many crayons he has. Since each box contains five crayons, Maria shows Elmo and Abby how to count by 5s. They count Baby Bear's thirty crayons by 5s. Maria tries to leave to work on her scrapbook, but Big Bird, Snuffy, and the Birdketeers arrive with a counting problem, forcing Maria to stay. They need to know the total number of fingers the Birdketeers have. Maria shows them how to count by 10s, counting each Birdketeer by their number of fingers, totaling 80 fingers. As the Birdketeers leave, Maria returns to her scrapbook.

The Count returns and compliments Abby and Elmo on the excellent counting they've done.

In a Muppets / Celebrity segment, Christina Applegate and Elmo introduce the word "booth" and discuss different types of booths. Murray then announces that Abby's Flying Fairy School is coming soon, but first, he plays "What's on Me That Starts with V?" with some kids.

In a film segment, children play "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" on the violin. Murray and Carson later introduce Abby's Flying Fairy School. In this animated segment, Mrs. Sparklenose takes the students on a field trip to Colonial Trolliamsberg. Blogg, who is half-Troll, feels down about the trip. To enter the town, they must solve a riddle, which they eventually do by realizing the answer is the letter "T." Inside the town, Blogg gains confidence and ultimately saves the day by putting Garfunkel the Griffin to sleep.

Murray then looks for 18 of things in a film segment, where a man makes a puzzle of the number 18. Murray rushes off to school as Jordan introduces "Murray Has a Little Lamb." In this Muppets segment, Ovejita leads Murray to a farm school where kids learn how to be veterinarians. A cartoon pig sings "Bein' a Pig" in an animation segment.

Murray plays "Sounds of the Street" and hears various musical instruments, including a saxophone, drums, and a trumpet-playing rooster. In a classic Muppets segment, Ernie and Bert are joined by Cookie Monster, Grover, some cows, an elephant, and a Martian as they sing a song about addition. Finally, Murray and the kids introduce "Elmo's World," which focuses on eyes.
