Sesame Street Elmo's Magic Cookbook was released in 2001, it is one of the Sesame Street Specials. The video is mainly about to show children how easy to cook.  The special aired on the Food Network on April 15, 2001.

Elmo, Telly and two children find a magic cookbook at the attic of the carriage house. They call Jean the Genie. Although Jean grants food-based wishes, she only materializes ingredients. They all together find themselves is a kitchen thanks to Jean. Elmo, Telly and children must cook the food themselves, Telly churns ice cream.  The ingredients are sentient Muppets that crack one-liners but explains there is no concern over their eventual consumption by a furry red monster.

Jean the Genie summons Alan and Emeril Lagasse. He calls Alan because of showing them how to arrange food into animals or objects. Emeril Lagasse is a celebrity guest in Sesame Street Elmo's Magic Cookbook. He is here to make pizza. And then Jean the Genie summons Heather Headley as a Pocket Queen. Heather Headley is another celebrity guest in Elmo's Magic Cookbook video. Pocket Queen expresses the concept of food pockets and also she teaches him to make Vietnamese summer rolls.
