Swordsmith Village Arc Synopsis
The Swordsmith Village Arc is a suspenseful chapter in the Demon Slayer series, as it delves into the hidden world of the swordsmiths who forge the powerful weapons wielded by the demon slayers. After Infinity Castle Arc, Tanjiro Kamado, Nezuko Kamado, Zenitsu Agatsuma, and Inosuke Hashibira embark on a new mission to the mysterious Swordsmith Village. Upon arriving in the secluded village, the team is introduced to the skilled swordsmiths who dedicate their lives to crafting the demon slayers' unique and formidable Nichirin Blades. While in the village, the group learns about the forging process, the importance of ore selection, and the special bond that exists between a demon slayer and their sword. Tanjiro, in particular, is eager to learn more about his family's connection to the legendary Sun Breathing Technique, and how it may be linked to the swords forged in the village.
However, their peaceful exploration is cut short when the village comes under attack by a group of mysterious demons, led by the enigmatic and powerful Upper Moon One, Hantengu. The demon slayers, along with the villagers, must work together to defend the village and unravel the secrets behind the assault. During the battle, Tanjiro and his friends face off against Hantengu's various forms, each possessing unique abilities and powers that push them to their limits. As the battle rages on, the swordsmiths reveal hidden knowledge about the history of the Breath Styles and their connection to the Nichirin Blades.
Swordsmith Village Arc Battles
The main antagonist of this arc, Upper Moon One Hantengu, is a formidable foe with multiple forms, each possessing their own distinct powers.
Tanjiro and Genya vs. Hantengu's Zohakuten form: When the battle begins, Tanjiro and Genya work together to confront Hantengu's Zohakuten form, which specializes in sound-based attacks. Tanjiro uses his Water and Sun Breathing Techniques to counter the demon's onslaught, while Genya provides support with his gun.
Zenitsu and Inosuke vs. Hantengu's Gyokko form: Meanwhile, Zenitsu and Inosuke face off against Hantengu's Gyokko form, which is known for its water-based attacks and ability to create illusions. Zenitsu's lightning-fast Thunder Breathing Techniques prove essential in outmaneuvering the demon, while Inosuke's Beast Breathing Techniques and heightened senses allow him to see through the illusions.
Nezuko vs. Hantengu's Sekido form: Nezuko faces her own challenge against Hantengu's Sekido form, which utilizes powerful earth-based attacks. Nezuko's demon blood art, Blood Burst, enables her to hold her ground against Sekido's relentless assault.
Tanjiro and Nezuko vs. Hantengu's final form: In the climactic confrontation, Tanjiro and Nezuko join forces to battle Hantengu's final form, which combines the powers of all his previous forms. Tanjiro's mastery of the Sun Breathing Technique, along with Nezuko's demon blood art, proves crucial in finally defeating the Upper Moon One demon. At the end of the battle, Hantengu was ultimately defeated by Tanjiro and Nezuko. With their combined efforts, they were able to overcome the Upper Moon One demon's numerous forms and powerful abilities. As a result of this defeat, Hantengu's body disintegrated, just like other demons, and he ceased to exist.
The Swordsmiths' role in the battles: Throughout the arc, the skilled swordsmiths of the village play a significant role in supporting the demon slayers, providing them with valuable insights and forging new weapons to replace those damaged in battle.
